3. Goat food should be fresh and water is clean and semi hot .

Winter goat care

Probably the biggest issue regarding winter goat care is making sure they always have fresh water available.  If their water is frozen they will not be able to stay hydrated.

The easiest method for my small herd is to bring them warm water twice a day from my house.  I use empty ice cream buckets because they are inexpensive and it’s easy to knock the ice out of the bucket before bringing it back inside.

• Make sure they have fresh, unfrozen water
• Provide a shelter preferably with at least 10 square feet per animal
• Increase food rations and keep those rumens rumbling
• Watch out for signs of poor temperature regulation such as shivering

 

 Health and Nutrition Management 

 Health: Introduction and Importance Health management is an important and integral part in goat farming. Through goat management, it is necessary to improve the productivity of goats, such as: general health management, parasite control, vaccine management, environment management and proper record keeping. Health management in farm level includes proper care taking of health of pregnant doe, newborn kids, youth and adults. Similarly, health management help to reduce the mortality rate of newborn kids, and it provides knowledge, skill and practice of control of infectious diseases. ‘Prevention is better than cure’, the statement best fits for livestock too. In healthy livestock, better immunity and recovery is quicker. But, if livestock fall sick, farmer must buy medicines, and it increases cost also. Treatment of disease must be faster; otherwise it will be very difficult to treat.

                       Locate the ideal place 

1.Generally, they thrive and grow well in hot areas where water does not stagnate easily. The ideal location would be a place in villages or outskirts of towns where the air is cleaner and pollution-free.

2.As they like to consume lot of grass daily, the grazing pastures should be situated near the rearing sheds and having plenty of grassy shrubs ,bushes.

3.The surface should be clean and dry and even mud floor would be suitable except for areas of heavy rainfall, snow which would make it wet and slippery.

4.There should be regular and easy availability of fresh, clean water in the area as goats require good amount of water to drink daily to remain healthy.

5.Full-time labour should be available easily for taking care of the animals.

6.The local markets should be nearby within short travel time for buying necessary food items ,commodities and for selling the meat, milk. It may be good to estimate the demand and its growth in the near future for milk, meat in the local population before deciding the location.

7.The local licenses and approvals needed from the competent authorities and the expenses for the same need to be identified, estimated to see whether they are competitive compared to other locations and not excessive.

8.Land needed for open areas for grazing and building of sheds ,enclosures should be easily available at a reasonable price. Land availability for grazing is crucial in goat farming as the land requirement on an average is an acre for 2 to 4 goats for poor pastures and 6 to 8 goats for better ones. 10 goats will generally clear an acre of land through grazing in a month so extra land for pasturing for the flock has to be kept ready. Even for a small quantity of 50 goats, a minimum of 1 acre of land is required for rearing and shed construction.

যারা নতুন খামার করতে আগ্রহী তারা শুরু থেকে শেষ পযন্ত' পোস্ট টি পড়ুনঃ

মানলে খামার করে লোকসান নয় লাভ হবে।প্রবাসী ভাইয়েরা ও পড়বেন।

শুরুতে ৩টি বিষয় থাকতে হবে।

*নিজের যা আছে তা নিয়ে সন্তুষ্ট থাকতে হবে।

       ১।আমরা খামারীরা গরীব ঘরের সন্তান হয়ে,বড় ধরনের ঝুঁকি আসলে আমরা সইতে খুবই কষ্ট হয়।

তাই খামারের শুরুতে ছোট্ট আকারে শুরু করবেন।

১/২টি বকনা ও ভালো জাতের ২/৩ টি গাভী দিয়ে শুরু করুন।

       ২।শুরুতে বড় আকারে ডেইরী নিয়ে শুরু করলে দুধের বাজার,দুধ সেল দিতে পারবেন কি না তা ভেবে নিবেন।নয়তো দুধের দোকানে/মিষ্টির দোকানে ৫০ হাজার ৭০ হাজার বাকী থাকতে হবে, পরে খামার নিয়ে হিমসিম খেতে হবে।

     ৩।গরু কিনার সময় অবশ্যই গরুটি সুস্থ আছে কি না খেয়াল করতে হবে,গাভী হলে দুধ দহনে লাথি মারে কি না,৪টি বাট দিয়ে দুধ ঠিক মতো আসে কি না,বয়স কী ইত্যাদি জেনে নিতে হবে। 

      ৪।শুরুতেই ১০/১৫ লক্ষ টাকা দিয়ে শুরু করবেন না।

কারন শুরুতে রিক্স না নেওয়া উওম।শুরুতে ২০ লিটারে গাভী নিবেন না, ১০/১৫ লিটার সবোচ্চ।কারণ এতো দামী গরু দিয়ে শুরু করলে কোন প্রকার সমস্যা হলে খামার করার মন মানসিকতা নষ্ট হয়ে যেতে পারে।

ও আরো অনেক আনুষাঙ্গিক বিষয় আছে তা শুরুতে বুঝতে কঠিন হবে।

       ৫।টাকা থাকলেই সব কিন্তু সম্ভব নয়,টাকা গরমে ২ লাখ ৩লাখ টাকা করে গরু কিনবেন না শুরুতে।

প্রবাসে থাকেন, ১০ টি গরু কিনে রাখাল রেখে দিয়ে খামার করবেন এমন সিদ্ধান্ত নিবেন না।তাহলে ভোগান্তির শেষ থাকবে না,যা হারে হারে টের পাবেন।কারণ ভালো রাখাল পাওয়া কঠিন।

      ৬।লাখ লাখ টাকার গরু খামারে তবে ১০০০/২০০০ হাজার টাকার অতিরিক্ত ঔষুধ খামারে রাখতে কষ্ট লাগে এমন চিন্তা করা যাবে না,প্রয়োজনীয় ঔষুধ কিছু খামারে রাখুন। গভীর রাতে দোকান তো বন্ধ থাকবে।

৭।ট্রেনিং করতে হবে ৩ মাসের, সাপ্তাহিক বা মাসিক প্রাণী সম্পদ হাসপাতালের খামারী মিটিং ও ট্রেনিং এ উপস্থিত থাকতে হবে।

৮।গরুর যত্ন করতে হবে নিয়মিত।

গরুর গোসল,ঠিকসময়ে খাদ্য দেওয়া,নিয়মিত খামার পরিস্কার করা, প্রতিদিন রাতে ঘুমানোর আগে রাত ১০ টায় খামারের সব গুলো গরুর খেয়াল নিবেন, গরু গুলো জাবর কাটছে কি না, প্রসাব পায়খানা ঠিক আছে কি না তা পরিদর্শন করতে হবে।এই ডিসিপ্লিন গুলো মেনে চলতে হবে।

৯।ধৈয' থাকতে হবে।খামারে লাভ আর লাভ তা কিন্তু নয়,কখনো কোন সমস্যা হতে পারে, আগুন লেগে পুড়ে যেতে পারে,গরু মারা যেতে পারে,গাভী বার বার বীজ/সিমেন দিলে না ও রাখতে পারে তাই বলে গাভী রাগে বিক্রি করা যাবে না।সমস্যা কেথায় তা খুঁজে বের করে সমাধান করতে হবে, লেগে থাকতে হবে।

১০।আপনার খামারে ২ টি ১০/১২ লিটার দুধের গাভী আছে ১/২ টি ভালো জাতের বকনা আছে তা নিয়ে সন্তুষ্ট থাকুন।অন্যর বড় খামার ও বড় ওলানের গাভী দেখে পাগল হবেন না।কারন নিজের যা আছে তা নিয়ে শুকরিয়া আদায় করা জরুরী।

হয়তো সময়ের ব্যবধানে আপনি তার চেয়ে বড় খামারী হতে পারেন,তাই সততা নিয়ে পরিশ্রম করুন।

১১।অবহেলা দূর করে সাহস রাখুন,গরু অসুস্থ হলে মন খারাপ করবেন না,যখন কোন গরুর সমস্যা হবে তখন নিজের আয়ত্তে না থাকলে দ্রুত ডাক্তার ডেকে চিকিৎসা করাবেন।তবে মনে রাখতে হবে রোগ ছোট্ট হউক বড় হউক অবহেলা করা যাবে না।কারণ একটু অবহেলার কারণে লাখ টাকার সমস্যা তো হতে পারে।

১২।গরু পালতে হলে গরু হতে হবে।

কারণ ৫০০ টাকার প্যান্ট,৪০০ টাকার শাট খুলে লঙ্গি আর কোমড়ে গামচা বেঁধে কাজ করতে হবে।

১৩।গাভী_না_বকনা না মোটাতাজা করন দিয়ে খামার শুরু করবেন।

শুধুই বকনা__দিয়ে শুরু করলে কমপক্ষে হিটে আসার আগ পযন্ত ও বাচ্চা দেওয়ার আগ পযন্ত আপনি কোন লাভের মুখ দেখতে পারবেন না।বরং হিটে আসলে কয়েকবার বীজ দিলে বীজ মিস করবে,খাদ্য খরচ,লেবার খরচ, কারেন্ট বিল হাত থেকে দিয়েই যেতে হবে এতে খামারের প্রতি আগ্রহ নষ্ট হয়ে যায়।

গাভী দিয়ে শুরু করলে দুধ বিক্রির টাকা দিয়েই গাভী ও বাচ্চার খাদ্য খরচ সহ অনন্যা খরচ ও চলে যাবে।ও গাভী হিটে আসলে বীজ দিয়ে আবার পুণরায় বাচ্চা দেওয়ার প্রস্তুতি নিবে।তবে সঠিক ভাবেই লালন পালন করতে হবে।

সুতরাং আমার মতে শুরুতে ১/২ টি বকনা ও ২/৩ টি গাভী দিয়ে শুরু করাই ভালো।

ফেসবুক,ইউটুব, সফলতার গল্প শুনে কেউ খামার করবেন না, কারণ ঐ গল্প গুলোর পিছনে লুকিয়ে থাকে অনেক তথ্য যা প্রকাশ করে না।

বাস্তবতা বড়ই কঠিন,কল্পনা পরিহার করে বাস্তবতা মেনে খামার করুন দেখবেন সফলতা আপনার পিছু নিবে।
